Ready to make a change to your home?  It can be as simple as adding beautiful siding to refresh the look of your home while also creating a barrier to the elements.  There are so many different variations on siding these days, but how do you figure out which one is best for your home?  Here at Jancewicz & Son, we take pride in our siding installation work and can educate our clients and help you to get excited about the process of creating beauty in your home.  There are some wonderful options for both wood and composite siding these days and some popular color trends in the New England area to bring rejuvenation to your home.

The Most Exciting Types of Siding

There are many types of siding available, but the main ones that we at Jancewicz & Son specialize in are composite and wood.  Both can bring beauty to your home and create a welcoming atmosphere for your family and friends to enjoy.

Composite

Composite siding is an incredibly popular choice for house siding because it will not show signs of wear, it never rots, and it is waterproof. It is also very low maintenance because it will never need to be painted, and this is why many homeowners are opting for this choice of siding.  In recent years, there have been many adaptations to composite siding because it is so sustainable, and it’s available in different finishes.  You can actually choose a composite siding that looks like wood or one that has a beautiful finish to it.

Wood

Wood siding is a wonderful option.  It is beautiful, natural, and can make a beautiful New England Cape Cod home look even more historic.  It blends nicely into the landscape and brings prestige to your home.  Typical homes in New England find that cedar clapboard is a wonderful choice for the weather conditions and style of home.

For wood siding, we suggest waterproofing as even though wood can make a dramatic change to the outside of your home for siding, it’s imperative that it is installed properly as wood is less capable of keeping away water in comparison to composite.

Color Trends For Your Home

Once you choose the type of siding that is right for your home, it’s time for the fun part!  There are so many color trends out there, whether you want to stay contemporary, historical, or maybe you want to bring a more modern touch to your home.  The past few years there has been a push towards very warm colors such as deep navy blue, forest green, and even burgundy.  With these colors, you are adding warmth to your home and also the darker the color, the less cleaning maintenance it may need especially during those harsh winter months in New England.

Both maroon and dark brown have made an appearance going back to the historical era of early New England settlers; this return to the roots of these natural colors is very popular.  This more traditional look can easily be stained to fit the exact color you are looking for, and at Jancewicz & Son, we can either choose a wood singing that is pre-primed or custom stained.  These colors are mostly chosen for wood siding and not composite siding.

With composite siding, we are seeing a trend towards pretty light greys, blues, and whites.  Because the composite siding does not have to be cleaned or maintained as much as the wood siding, it gives you more choices when it comes to choosing a lighter color that may be a better fit for your overall home and property.

Whatever siding you decide to choose, it’s important to focus on quality and long-term maintenance.  Both composite and wood siding give you options and extensive color palettes to choose from,  and you will have the ability to customize whatever type of siding will fit your home the best.

Our reputation is well-known in the New England area, and we have received numerous awards, and our staff is licensed in all of our work.
